Day trip to Windermere, UK: When the buses fail but the lake delivers 🛥️

Just had a bit of a chaotic day trip to Windermere (Lake District, UK) from Manchester! 🚂

The Experience: We waited ages for the bus at the station, but it just never showed up. Instead of waiting around, we decided to walk down to the pier. We got to pass the World of Beatrix Potter (Peter Rabbit museum) on the way. 🐰

We took a round-trip cruise on the lake which was incredibly refreshing. I had planned this to be my first post-partum hike, but unfortunately, a local festival had suspended most of the connecting buses, so we couldn't reach the trailheads. We ended up heading back to Manchester earlier than planned, but the lake air was worth it!
