Yvr to dps transit in seol

I have a 20kg checked baggage allowance.

My plan:

  1. Start at YVR with only a carry-on

  2. Fly to Seoul (20-hour layover)

  3. Buy a 29-inch suitcase there

  4. Go shopping, fill the suitcase

  5. Check it in Seoul for my next flight

Can I do this?

The airline is korean air
