Flying from TX to GA to TX

I wanted to come on here just to get some perspective on this situation I’m in. I’d really like to attend my partner’s graduation on May 14 at 3PM in Atlanta, but I live in Houston and will be graduating the day after (May 15) at 7PM. I want to go, but have been feeing a lot of anxiety surround it, so I wanted to hear what yall think? Are the chances of flight cancellations lower for specific airlines? If i were to not be able to fly out that day (May 15 in the AM), are there alternatives? Would yall fly out if you were in my position?
