Cap d’Ail vs Villefranche-sur-Mer + 2–3 day itinerary (Monaco / Èze / Menton)
Hi all,
I’m trying to decide between two bases on the French Riviera and would really appreciate some input.
We’ll be there from June 27 to July 1 (right after Cannes Lions), and it’ll be after 5 days in Cannes, so we’re more looking for a slower pace.
Main focus would be Monaco, Èze and Menton. Not really planning to go to Nice or back to Cannes.
I’m currently between Cap d’Ail and Villefranche-sur-Mer.
Cap d’Ail seems more convenient for those places, and the apartment itself is nicer (better view, higher rating, etc).
Villefranche feels a bit more “alive” and atmospheric, and maybe a nicer place to just walk around, eat, hang out.
So I’m a bit torn between:
• better apartment + proximity (Cap d’Ail) • vs. nicer overall vibe / town feel (Villefranche) If you’ve stayed in either (or both), which would you pick in this situation?
Also, if anyone has done Monaco + Èze + Menton over 2–3 days, I’d love to hear how you structured it without rushing too much.
Thanks!
